It was the last weekend of games before the holiday break and all six teams were in action. Montreal was in Shenzhen to face the Rays, Toronto was in Alberta to play the Inferno and the Blades came to Markham to try and get there first win.
After winning their game on Wednesday in Shenzhen, Les Canadiennes looked forward to their weekend against the Rays. For the first time this season, the Rays were winless in a series against another CWHL team. Les Canadiennes won 5-1 on Friday and 6-3 on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Inferno and Furies played in Red Deer on Saturday where the Furies handed the Inferno their second loss in regulation this season. Sunday, the Inferno were back on home ice and goalie Annie Belanger rebounded from a tough loss Saturday to earn the shutout win on Sunday 6-0.
The Worcester Blades faced another tough series sweep this week against the Thunder in Markham. On Saturday, Courtney Turner gave the Blades the only goal in the 4-1 loss to the Thunder. The Blades were hoping to secure a win on Sunday, but the Thunder offence turned up the heat to win 6-1 giving Liz Knox her 40th win.
