Playoff Recap: Les Canadiennes and Inferno Headed to Clarkson Cup

Les Canadiennes and the Inferno are heading to the 2019 Clarkson Cup.

The Thunder and Canadiennes went head to head in their final game of the playoffs today with both teams looking for the win.  After two well-played games and the series tied at one game apiece, it came down to the third game in Montreal.  Daoust opened up the scoring in the first period, followed by goals from Saulnier, Rougeau, Knight, and Lavigne in the second.  The Thunder were unable to get one through Maschmeyer and lost 5-0.  It was an incredible season for the reigning Clarkson Cup Champions.

Meanwhile, in Calgary, the Inferno and Furies series was also tied at one game apiece, with the deciding game happening at 12:00 PM MDT.  Decker opened up the scoring for the Inferno in the first. Prevost would get the Furies on board in the second but the Inferno came back with another from Jenner in the second and Decker in the third. Bellamy got the empty netter in the third giving the Inferno the win. The Furies made an incredible run to the playoffs and had an outstanding season.

The Inferno will take on Les Canadiennes in the Clarkson Cup Final on March 24th at Coca-Cola Coliseum.  Purchase tickets at thecwhl.com/clarksoncup2019
