4 of 6Markham Thunder games have recently become a near guarantee to deliver extra-hockey as they have now gone to the shootout in four of their last six games. The Thunder won their latest shootout effort this past weekend following a three-goal third period come-from-behind effort versus the Vanke Rays.

4 – 1st – This past weekend saw four different players record their first career CWHL goals. Opening the set of firsts was Vanke Rays captain Minghui Kong and Markham Thunder forward Devon Skeats who notched their first career markers in the opening period of a Saturday night thriller in Markham. Also on Saturday night, Toronto Furies forward Danielle Gagne registered her first career goal on the road in Boston. Rounding out the weekend was newly acquired Les Canadiennes defence, Erin Ambrose. After recording eight assists in her rookie campaign a season ago, Ambrose found the back of the net for the first time in a pivotal win over Calgary on Sunday.

13 – The Calgary Inferno nearly continued their streak of undefeated in regulation, only having two losses in overtime through 12 games played this season. The streak of strong 60-minute play continued following a tough Saturday night shootout loss to the visiting Les Canadiennes, but was ended the next afternoon making it 13 straight without a regulation loss.
