MNP By the Numbers (Dec. 18-Dec. 24, 2017)

 

Take a look inside the CWHL through MNP By the Numbers for the week ending Sunday, December 24.

1st – Scoring at the midway point of the second period in a Tuesday night showdown with the Boston Blades, Vanke forward Xin Fang became the first Chinese-born player to score for the Rays. Fang followed that up with a third period goal to record the first multi-point game for a Chinese-born player in the CWHL.

58 – Adding another 58 saves during a two-game series with the Vanke Rays, Boston goaltender Lauren Dahm lifted her season total to 516. Dahm has turned aside 114 more shots than any other goalie in the CWHL so far this season.

4th – Vanke Rays goaltender Elaine Chuli made 27 saves to pick up her fourth career shutout, defeating Boston 3-0 on Wednesday evening. The CWHL rookie now has two shutouts versus the Blades,  along with two against the Toronto Furies this season.

27 – Registering eight points over her last three games, Vanke forward and 2017 draft pick Cayley Mercer extended her CWHL points lead. The Exeter, Ont., native now has 27 points (10 G, 17 A) through 13 games played, ahead of Kunlun goal-scorer Kelli Stack (22 points – 17  G, 5 A)  and Markham playmaker Jamie Lee Rattray (13 points – 13 G, 8 A).
