6, 1, 1 – Kunlun Red star goaltender and 2018 Olympic bronze medalist Noora Räty recorded her sixth shutout of the season on Friday night, setting a new CWHL single-season record. Additionally, Chinese-born skaters Lu Wen and Rui Zhu each recorded their first career goals for the Kunlun Red Star this past Sunday. Wen notched her first career marker at the midway point of the second period, followed by Zhu just five minutes into the third helping Kunlun pick up a crucial victory over Vanke during the playoff push.
16 & 1 – Toronto Furies netminders shined in the teams regular season finale at home this past weekend. CWHL co-founder and three-time Olympic medalist Sami Jo Small earned her 16th career shutout on Sunday afternoon, a CWHL record. Meanwhile, on Saturday evening, first-year Furies goaltender Amanda Makela registered her first career CWHL shutout with a 30 save effort versus the Blades.
50/50/50 – Three different players recorded the milestone mark of 50 career assists over the weekend. Leading the way was Toronto Furies speedster Carolyne Prevost who recorded two assists over two wins to achieve the milestone. Teammate and CWHL veteran Shannon Moulson also recorded two assists this weekend, lifting her career total to 50. Closing out the trio is Markham Thunder scoring ace, Jamie Lee Rattray. Picking up a point in 14 consecutive games now, which places her in a tie for the longest scoring streak this season, Rattray’s three Sunday afternoon helpers elevated her career total to the half-century mark.
