Inferno Reclaims Top Spot; Kunlun, Vanke Sweep Homestands

The Calgary Inferno are back atop the CWHL standings, sweeping their two-game set against the Boston Blades on the weekend. Eight different goal-scorers connected for Calgary, led by forward Brittany Esposito with two goals and an assist. The Inferno (8-0-2) remains the lone team yet to lose in regulation this season.

Blades forward Courtney Turner, the first overall pick in the 2017 Draft, scored her first two goals of the season in Saturday’s loss.

The Kunlun Red Star and Vanke Rays continued their ascension in the CWHL standings in closing out their historic homestand with two more wins each. Vanke (8-1-0) now sits second in the League after wrapping up its home debut against Markham (3-7-2) while Kunlun (7-4-0) ranks third following its wins against the Toronto Furies (3-6-1).

Rays forwards Cayley Mercer and Brooke Webster held on to their top spots in CWHL scoring, recording three and four points in their last two games, respectively.
