Weekend Recap: Thunder, Inferno and Canadiennes Take the Weekend

All six teams were back in action this weekend as the Markham Thunder were in Shenzhen to face the Rays,  Les Canadiennes made their way to Worcester and the Inferno were in Toronto to face the Furies.

The Markham Thunder landed in Shenzhen last Monday to start off their three-game series against the Rays on Wednesday night.  The Thunder would go on to take the series 2-1 winning both of their weekend games by  3-2 and 3-1. The Rays won the first game of the series 3-2 in OT.

Les Canadiennes and the Inferno shutout the Blades and Furies this weekend. Les Canadiennes winning the first game 5-0 and the second 9-0. Marie-Soliel Deschenes was solid in net making 48 saves in total.  The Inferno won the Saturday showdown against the Furies 7-4 and took the Sunday game with a score of 3-2.

Catherine Daoust and Emma Martin score their first CWHL goals this weekend while Kelly Gribbons, Mellissa Channell and Megan Quinn collected their first points.  Rebecca Johnston score earned her 100th point in the CWHL.
