CWHL Draft 2018

Welcome to the 2018 CWHL draft!

The Canadian Women’s Hockey League is excited to open its draft for the upcoming 2018-19 season. Coming off the celebration of its 11th season, the CWHL is continuing to grow and pave the way for future generations. Last year's draft saw a total of 115 players get drafted across the seven CWHL teams.

Highlights from the 2017-18 season include the retention of all and the addition of two new league sponsors; the re-location of the Thunder from Brampton to Markham; the historic announcement of the league's expansion into China, which saw the addition of two new teams, Kunlun Red Star and Vanke Rays; the introduction of player compensation; and the Markham Thunder defeating the Kunlun Red Star in overtime to capture the Clarkson Cup at Ricoh Coliseum in their inaugural season.

Here you will find all necessary information regarding the draft registration process for the upcoming season. The draft event will take place August 26, 2018 at 3:00 PM ET in Toronto, Ontario.
