CWHL Continues Partnership with NHLPA With Official Jersey Patch to be Added, Beginning this Weekend

TORONTO (Jan. 5, 2019) – The Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL) is proud to continue its partnership with the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA). Beginning this weekend as the CWHL schedule resumes, every CWHL player jersey will be outfitted with an official NHLPA patch.

As a supporter of the CWHL and of women’s hockey, the NHLPA last year was the title sponsor of the 2018 CWHL Clarkson Cup Award Show and acted as the presenting sponsor of the Jayna Hefford Award.  Once again, this year the NHLPA will be the presenting sponsor of the Jayna Hefford Award, which is handed out annually to the Most Valuable Player during the regular season and is voted on by the players.

“This is an exciting partnership between the CWHL and the NHLPA,” said Jayna Hefford, Interim Commissioner. “We have always valued the relationship we have and are thankful for their continuing support of the league and our players. We look forward to building upon this relationship for years to come.”
