THE NOMINATIONS ARE IN

As the regular season draws to a close and with Clarkson Cup Playoffs only days away, the CWHL announced today the nominees for the 2017 CWHL Awards with some familiar and some fresh faces alike.  Montreal Captain Marie-Philip Poulin will look to defend her Jayna Hefford Award and CWHL Most Valuable Player titles from her Angela James Bowl co-winner Brampton’s Jess Jones, as well as Calgary captain Brianne Jenner and Montreal teammate Ann-Sophie Bettez.

Russian rookie Calgary’s Iya Gavrilova cements her place amongst the game’s elite with her nomination to Rookie of the Year where she faces Brampton’s Laura Stacey and Toronto’s Renata Fast. Former winner’s Montreal’s Charline Labonte and Calgary’s Genevieve Lacasse match up against Toronto’s Christina Kessler for recognition as the Goalie of the Year.

A full listing of all nominees can be found below. The 2017 CWHL Awards will be held in Ottawa on Friday, March 3rd at the Kailash Mital Theatre at Carleton University at 8pm. Tickets are available from the CWHL Store for $50 for Adults and $20 for Children and can be purchased here.
