With 183 combined votes through CWHL polls via Twitter and thecwhl.com, Calgary Inferno goaltender Delayne Brian has been named the ADT Goalie of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 11.
Brian is the final netminder to receive the honour this season while claiming the fan-voted recognition for the second time in the past three weeks.
Making back-to-back starts for the Inferno in their final regular season series versus Les Canadiennes, Brian faced the most pressure she had seen all season from an opponent notching 30-plus saves in both games. A Wayne State Warrior and Robert Morris Colonial alumna, Brian ended the weekend series with 63 total saves, 3.56 goals-against average, and .900 save percentage.
A CWHL veteran, Brian was drafted sixth overall by the Inferno in the 2013 CWHL Draft. The Winnipeg, Man., native was named CWHL Goaltender of the Year in her first season in 2014 and was instrumental in Calgary’s 2016 Clarkson Cup victory, being named the Clarkson Cup Finals MVP.
