2018 Top Prospects: Catherine Daoust


A defensive stalwart, Catherine Daoust offers a strong blueline presence in the 2018 CWHL Draft.

In four seasons with the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs Daoust totaled 37 points (9 G, 28 A), while maintaining a plus rating with her strong defensive game.

The Ile Bizard, Quebec native was an alternate captain in her senior season with the Bulldogs and was named the 2017-18 Western Collegiate Hockey Association’s (WCHA) Outstanding Student-Athlete of the Year. CWHL All-Star’s and fellow UMD alumnae who have received the same honour include Jocelyne Larocque and Caroline Ouellette.

On the international stage, Daoust owns a gold medal, won as a member of Team Canada at the 2013 IIHF U18 World Championship. Also on that gold- medal team were 2017 CWHL Draft selections Taryn BaumgardtAshleigh Brykaliuk and Hanna Bunton, and fellow 2018 CWHL Draft registrants Sarah Nurse and Kimberly Newell.
