2018 CWHL Top Prospects: Taylor Willard

As an established playmaking two-way defender, Taylor Willard is a strong competitive addition to the CWHL Draft.

The Chicago native attended the University of Vermont where she played defense with the UVM Catamounts. During her time at UVM, Willard played a total of 145 games, scored 21 goals and earned 41 assists. In 2016, she was named tri-captain of the Catamounts and earned a spot on the Hockey East Second All-Star team and Hockey East All-Academic team.  In her final year with UVM, Willard was named Captain of the Catamounts and made the Hockey East Honourable Mention All-Star team.

Willard also has international pedigree having represented Team USA at the 18-and-under level where she recorded three assists and won a silver medal. In 2018, Willard earned the Sarah Devens Award which is given to the student that has demonstrated leadership both on and off the ice. She is the first UVM player to win the award and first Hockey East player to win since 2006.
