2018 CWHL Draft Registration Opens


(TORONTO June 1, 2018) Registration for the 2018 CWHL Draft officially opened the afternoon of Friday, June 1.

The entry draft is open to all female hockey players eligible through the CWHL draft guidelines. With eligibility and registration complete, athletes are guaranteed selection by a CWHL club.

The 2018 CWHL Draft will be held in Toronto, Ont., on Sunday, August 26. Location to be announced at a later time.

Last season, with the additions of the Kunlun Red Star and Vanke Rays to the CWHL, the 2017 Draft saw 115 players selected.

Notable draft picks included: 2018 Olympic bronze medalist with Team Finland – Noora Räty, two-time Olympic medalist with Team Canada – Melodie Daoust, four-time World Championship gold medalist with Team USA – Alex Carpenter, and two-time NCAA champion and 2017 Patty Kaizmaier Award finalist from Clarkson University – Cayley Mercer.
